The near future (futur proche) is used to describe actions that will happen soon, formed with the present indicative of aller + infinitive.
- Je vais venir te voir.
- I am going to come see you.
- Nous allons finir le projet ce soir.
- We are going to finish the project tonight
The Futur proche expresses actions planned or expected to occur in the near future (e.g., Je vais parler avec le client I am going to talk with the client). It’s often more immediate than the futur simple.
It’s common in spoken French, especially for casual and professional plans.
